When you might need wisdom teeth removal

So, your third molars, aka wisdom teeth, are trying to make an appearance. While it’s great they want to join the party, there might not be enough room for them, causing discomfort, pain, or infection.

If your impacted tooth isn’t causing any problems, then no treatment is needed – phew! But if there’s a pesky pus or swelling, antibiotics can give you some temporary relief.

If your wisdom tooth has caused some real damage, like an infection, cyst formation, tooth decay, or gum disease, then extraction is the way to go.

Fear not! Our dentists have the expertise, equipment, and knowledge to perform safe and comfortable wisdom teeth extractions at our beautiful Ealing dental clinic – making sure you feel at ease the entire time.

What to expect from your wisdom teeth removal procedure

We offer several wisdom teeth treatment options, depending on your specific needs. In some cases, we can perform simple extractions that only require local anaesthesia. If your wisdom teeth have grown roots deep into your jawbone, we might recommend a surgical extraction with general anaesthesia. Don’t worry; our expert dental team will walk you through every step of the way and explain what to expect. We’ll assess your situation, explain your options, and perform the extraction with the utmost care and precision.

The best dental practice in the area. I have visited the practice twice now and the experience on both occasions were great. Dr Sahil and Dr Colin made me feel at ease and explained everything in detail. I also have to mention Dipti at reception who lovely and provides great service. Highly recommend Dickens Yard Dental!

Rizwan Rizvi

Had an amazing experience at Dickens Yard Dental. Walked in without an appointment and was seen immediately. The dentist was fantastic, extremely thorough, explaining what he was doing at each step, and then providing full guidance on how to manage it myself. I cannot recommend this dental practise enough if you live in and around Ealing.

I recently visited Dickens Yard Dental as a new patient and was seen by Dr Sahil. He was extremely friendly and made sure to explain everything in detail, often stopping to see if I had any questions on what he had explained. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I felt that Dr Sahil was very knowledgeable and provided excellent care.

Have questions? We thought you might!

See the most common ones our dentists get asked below. Don’t see an answer to your question? We’d be happy to help you!
It depends on your situation. If you’re experiencing pain, swelling, or infection, it’s best to see a dentist right away. We’ll evaluate your case and recommend the best course of action.
We strive to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for our patients. We use local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia to numb the area and minimise pain during the extraction.
Gum disease can cause a wide array of harmful symptoms, such as bad breath, darker teeth, staining, bleeding gums, tooth mobility, infections, and tooth loss. Gum disease can also affect your general health, with studies showing links to Diabetes, Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s.
It typically takes about a week to recover from a wisdom teeth extraction fully. We’ll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to ensure you heal correctly.
We recommend taking a few days off to rest and recover after the extraction. You might experience swelling or discomfort, so it’s best to take it easy until you feel comfortable returning to your regular activities.
