Botox is a safe purified protein that works by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles where it is injected, thereby reducing dynamic lines and wrinkles. It is the best way to prevent static lines from forming, keeping you looking youthful and gorgeous. It can be injected into a small area of the face, or several areas, depending on your specific wants and needs.
Botox is very safe and has been used in medical aesthetics for many years. Some patients may not be suitable for botox, e.g. if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or immunocompromised. This will be assessed during your initial consultation appointment by our practitioner.
Here at Dickens Yard Dental, we take pride in providing natural and youthful results, not frozen or expressionless. So no one has to find out if you don’t want them to.
The treatment has minimal pain, and most people only usually feel a little pinch. If you are concerned, ask your practitioner about topical anaesthetics which can be applied before treatment, making it virtually painless.
In order to tailor treatment to your individual concerns and needs, a thorough and detailed consultation is carried out before treatment. The injections themselves don’t usually take more than around 10 minutes to carry out.
There is no downtime due to treatment, so you can resume your daily activities once you leave. To ensure you achieve the most out of your treatment, we advise:
- Staying upright for 4-6 hours after treatment
- Avoid touching or rubbing your face after treatment
- Avoid exercise, saunas, and hot showers for 48 hours after treatment
Our medical aesthetics practitioner will go through detailed aftercare advice with you following your treatment.
You will start to see a difference within 5 days of treatment. Full effects usually take up to two weeks. We provide a 2 week follow up appointment to ensure you are satisfied with your results, at which point additional doses can be provided if needed.
Results last up to 4-6 months. Clients who maintain their regular botox visits will benefit from their muscles becoming less active over time, in turn needing less frequent treatments.

Dermal fillers contain natural hyaluronic acid and work to restore lost volume and definition. They are completely safe, and are naturally absorbed by the body over time. They can be used anywhere around the face, including lips, cheeks and more.
Here at Dickens Yard Dental, just like our anti-wrinkle treatments, we take pride in providing natural results. Only those you wish to tell will know your secret!
The treatment has minimal pain, and most people only usually feel a little pinch. Some areas such as the lips are carried out under anaesthetic to ensure a painless procedure. Your practitioner will discuss these options with you during your consultation.
Results from dermal fillers are immediate, with mild swelling initially that subsides over a few days. Full effects will be visible around a week after treatment. Results typically last up to 12 months depending on the area treated.
A complimentary 2 week follow up appointment is provided to ensure you a totally satisfied with your results.
The most common side effects include tenderness and swelling usually immediately after treatment. In some rare cases, mild bruising can occur that subsides within a week and can be concealed with makeup.
